Woodnest opened during a world pandemic, but thankfully our doors are open throughout this Covid 19 crisis. The Treehouses are carefully deep cleaned and disinfected after each guest to give you confidence for a safe stay with us. Antibac is used on all surfaces. We are constantly checking Covid rules and restrictions and we will inform our guests of any sudden changes. We ask all our guests in this period to notify us if they have symptoms of covid, if they have booking in the near future.
PRICES for 2022
Weekday for two: kr 3800
kr 3200 for weekdays and kr 3800 in weekends and public holidays and school holidays
Weekend for two: 7600NOK (two night minimum friday-sunday)
Extra per head per night: 500NOK
Breakfast for two: 500NOK
Breakfast for extra people: 100NOK pr person

Cancellation four weeks prior = 100% refund
Cancellation two weeks prior = 50% refund
Cancellation later than two weeks = full payment
THE WALK UP TO WOODNEST
Depending on your fitness levels, the walk from the parking place to the treehouses can take up to 30 mins. There is a combination of steel and wooden steps, plus walking on a natural stone path and uneven levels. This walk although it is short, the hike up is steep, you need to come prepared with good walking shoes and clothes.
Woodnest has two treehouses, each treehouse is perfect for two people, with space for four. Our maxium sleeping capacity is 4 persons.
We suggest if you book 4 adults in one treehouse that you know each other well.
No sorry we have a strict no-pet-policy.
WHERE IS WOODNEST?
Odda, Norway. To keep privacy for our guests we aim to keep the location as secret as possible. More specific information is sent via email, within 7 days of your arrival. Free parking is available. Closest International airport is Bergen 3 hour drive. Travelling by local transport is possible by bus to Odda.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
We have free parking for our guests at the starting point of the hike to the treehouses. More information is given within one week of arrival.
CAN I COOK UP THERE?
Yes, We have a small kitchenette with two induction hot plates, a sink and small fridge. We also provide saucepans and frying pans, cooking utensils and basic cooking essentials like oil, salt and pepper. If cooking is not your thing, we have provided suggestions for local dine-in and takeaway.
IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED?
If you would like breakfast you need to order at the time of booking. If selected, it will be sourced from local and seasonal ingredients. Sourdough from the local bakery, a selection of toppings, eggs, juice and coffee. Breakfast prices begin at 500kr for two people.
TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN?
Children must be supervised by their parent/guardians at all times. Before bringing children to Woodnest, you should consider additional factors such as steep hills and uneven grounds, steep stairs and cliff edges. Young children will need to be assisted when walking up to the treehouse. We do not have cots or travel beds, you cannot push a stroller up there. We have high chairs, but please notify us when booking if you need a high chair.
The treehouses have underfloor heating, on all the flooring including the bathroom, this will be on when you arrive. A thermostat in the treehouse allows you to control the heat. We also have small extra heaters for an extra boost if needed.
IS WOODNEST SUITABLE FOR THE ELDERLY?
The hike up to Woodnest is steep and you should consider factors such as fitness levels, steep hills, uneven grounds, and heights. Handrails are only available at the last part of the walk.
The toilet and shower are inside the treehouse (we know.. can you believe it?!). Once you have arrived in the nest, you will not have to leave, to take care of any of your “business”. Towels and toilet paper are provided for our guests
Unfortunately, based on the location of the treehouses, we are unable to provide any alternate options for those who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
IS IT SAFE?
We have worked with multiple engineers to ensure the treehouses are safe, but In the rare case of extreme weather, the safety of our guests becomes the first priority, and therefore cancellations by the host may take place with short notice.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT SNOWS?
Snow adds an extra beauty to the surroundings but of course makes the walk to woodnest a little more challenging. In the winter seasons we do not recommend travelling with small children or the elderly. In the cases of extreme weather, heavy snow and ice, we may need to cancel your booking to maintain safety for our guests. A full refund will be given in this instance.
CAN WE COME AND LOOK AT WOODNEST?
One of the things that encourages our guests to stay at Woodnest is the fact that they have privacy, we would love to keep it that way. The property on which Woodnest is built is private. So we ask that you please follow the signs by holding distance from the treehouse and refrain from taking photos of the treehouses whilst we have guests there.
